UPCOMING EVENTSCAREPARTNERS is the name of a gathering ot people who have ongoing care concern and responsibility for a parent, spouse, child or someone else who has ongoing health issues. this group gathers at 1:00 pm on the first and third Wednesdays.
NOTICESCELL PHONES should please be turned off during the church services. MORNING PRAYER is being offered on Wednesday mornings at 8:00 am. HICKORY TREE BACKPACK PROJECT: The Backpack project was a huge success. Thanks to the generosity of the parishioners of St. Martha's, the children at the Hickory Tree Center in Selbyville are starting off the school year with very cool backpacks filled with all sorts of supplies so that they will be very successful and prepared for school! The children and the staff at Hickory Tree are so appreciative of your generosity. The members of the Outrach Committee thank you as well for your support of this project. THANK YOU!! SUNDAY SCHOOL NEWS: We've had many returning folks who look forward to their time at St. Martha's Sunday School while at the beach. Stop by the bulletin board in the conference room area and view our summer crafts about summer. Join in the fun and possibly assist or teach a week or two. It's rewarding and fun! We are in need of teachers and/or assistants for August 31 & Setp. 7. THE NEXT BOOK SALE WILL BE SATURDAY, AUGUST 30th from iam-1pm. The set-up for that sale will be friday, August 29th at 9am. Please look for the book sale sign-up sheet posted on the bulletin board by the kitchen. LAST CHANCE TO CLEAN OUT BOOK SHELVES - We wish to than the many people who have taken the time to donate their gently used books, CD's, tapes, board games, and puzzles, which have made our book sales so succesful. To date, we have a total of $3,231.00 in proceeds, wyhich are used to fund projects and fellowship needs not currently met in the church budget. We will not accept books past Saturday, August 30th. THE INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: Bike donations will be suspended until next spring due to lack of storage whle the church is under construction. CASA SAN FRANCISCO BROWN BAG PROJECT: The sun, the sand and the surf! French fries, milk shakes and ice cream! That's what you see when you walk along the boardwalk. But go inland just a bit and things change dramatically, and we don't mean just the absence of the ocean. One site you would see would be the individuals and families coming to Casa San Francisco in Milton, DE for their bag of groceries which are distributed to them on a regular basis and without which they wouldn't make it. But Casa couldn't do its job uless we do ours. We urge you to take a brown bag from the narthex and a list of suggested food items, fill it and return it to church. We take over from there and deliver the food to Casa. By the way, if you forget to take a bag, we also "take plastic". Fill it with canned goods and dry food items. That would be perfect. Many thanks to those of you who have been participating and a welcome to those of you who will be participating for the first time. COMMEMORATIVE BRICKS: >$150 will give you an engraved brick for our outside walk. This is a wonderful way to celebrate a marriage, anniversary, birth of a child ar grandchild or to honor a loved one. Brick order forms are in the Narthex in the rack by the office. If you have any questions, contact Wincy Jackson 302-539-9319 or jaxon19930@mchsi.com. UPCOMING VOLUNTEER NEEDS:
